It does not much matter if you think you can or think you cannot. In either case, you are correct. When you make up your mind, your body will follow. The mother who lifted a car off her child did not stop to think that she could not do that. She simply did it. Of course it was impossible. Any logical, rational, thinking person knows this. Fortunately for the child, its mother did not stop to think that she might not be able to. She did what her mind told her had to be done. I haven’t done anything particularly amazing, but continue to be impressed by the power of the human mind, at least of mine, but I […]

Challenge accepted. Yesterday I had an angry red blotch surrounding a scabbed-over wound, source of injury unknown. I biff and bang my skin in my everyday world without giving it much thought. This infection is not significantly different from hundreds of others I have had, and certainly of no concern. In the olden days with my blind faith in the anointed medical practitioners, I would hustle to one of their temples to get shot for the dreaded tetanus that none of us had ever known to exist outside a mythology of the diploma-bearing medicine man world. They then would have poured some toxic mixture out of a brown bottle onto the wound, applied a fifty-dollar band-aid and sent me packing. […]

As it turns out, I am reasonably adept at both. The first came naturally and easily to me. Just be Ted. Actually, the repair was natural as well, though not as easy. Friday I spent hours with hedge shears cutting the noxious weeds in my potato patch. This involved A LOT of stooping and bending giving me a very sore back that evening. Saturday morning I was happily symptom free, so I promptly FIXED THAT by taking my Dutch hoe to noxious weeds in the chicken yard. About three-quarters of the way through I was feeling tenderness in my lower back, but I was ALMOST DONE! So, of course, I finished the job. My back was still sore Sunday […]

Today uncountable Gs definitely brought a smile to my face, a spring to my step. Organized crime (private sector) movies taught us to use Gs when referring to thousand-dollar bits. A hundred Gs is $100,000 in that parlance. I am abusing the pun here. My semi-retired Honda CRX race car was scowling at me from under its coat of dust. We hadn’t flexed our muscles in a very long time and the rapidly approaching winter threatened to add another 6 months to that streak. Heck, world events could add “forever” to it. Today I was harrumphing my way around the estate mulling over my impossibly long list of pre-winter chores when the CRX suggested we do something JUST FOR THE […]

The potential outcomes from demonstrations on January 20th go from bad through worse all the way into awful. Talented author, genuine good guy and excellent strategist developed a good hard look at what could go wrong and right in Richmond. He moved me from fist-pumping for the patriots to joining him to say, Patriots, Stay Away! Save your activism and ammo for times and places where you can win. More importantly, do not give them the chance to derail our momentum. I link to Matt Bracken, his excellent books and the source of the post I pasted below. – Ted – RICHMOND: THE MOTHER OF ALL BUFFALO JUMPS Posted by Matt Bracken | Jan 7, 2020 | Matt Bracken, […]
By Ted Dunlap, on August 3rd, 2019 This is an outstanding video. It is very definitely not the shrill, radical anti-vax you often hear, but a high level scientist who talks about what Merck does right, about the level of responsibility and dedication among the scientists and other Merck workers, AND where that breaks down. He simply has questions that need answers. Since those answers do not exist, he won’t use vaccines, and has not for himself or his family. … “Scientist Jorge Araujo says that quality controls and all-important safety practices are simply not there at Merck pharmaceuticals, one of the “Pharma Five” that dominates the vaccine producing industry. This scientist may not work at Merck right now, but when he did, there simply were not […]

Years before I entered high school, my dad began teaching me the game he LOVED and excelled at. I entered a high school of 3,000 baby boomers (and graduated) as a distinctly small boy of 5’2″, 98 pounds, but was the 3rd best tennis player on the team all three of my high school years. I was the only one who could beat the coach because the better players followed the muscle-bound pin-head’s instructions while I was not so predictable. Tennis is a fast-paced, thinking, strategy game with an athletic skill set thrown in. I enjoyed the game then, but only found tennis partners once or twice after that. The last five years has found me teaching quite a few […]
By compatriot, on May 30th, 2018 by Jeffrey Nichols A friend wrote this essay as a college assignment. I liked it on many levels and, with permission, republish it here. By the way, the dilapidated pickup he mentions is mine. The high-G ‘rat-rod’ CRX Nick custom-built an exhaust system for is also mine. Planning to show my high-G rat-rod next to Jeff’s similar one was the reason I went to the Memorial Day car show. But on to the pleasant guest essay… I took the drive down from Missoula and walked in the back door the other day. Under a dilapidated blue S10 pickup Ben Roland, my father’s current grease-monkey-in-training, gave me the most sincere ear to ear grin a guy could ask for. His arms […]
By compatriot, on April 28th, 2015 Dr. Brownstein’s Blog Friends and associates…welcome to our blog! Here you will find exclusive articles and helpful commentary from a board-certified family physician, whose goal is to inform the world about the power of holistic health solutions. Feel free to comment and join the conversation! Americans Take Too Many Drugs Americans take too many prescription medications. In 2014, Americans filled 4.3 billion prescriptions while spending a record amount of $374 billion for their medications. 2014 spending on prescription drugs hit the highest level since 2001 according to data from the IMS Institute of Healthcare Informatics. I would not have a problem with Americans taking so many prescription medications if the drugs were improving our health. But, that is not what […]
By compatriot, on April 29th, 2014 New Probe Confirms Harry Reid’s Long History of Corruption Written by Bob Adelmann The seemingly Teflon senior senator from Nevada, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, has been forced to respond to charges made in a two-part investigation into his dealings published last week at RealClearPolitics. The initial investigation looked into multiple claims of corruption, and responses from Reid’s PR people failed to deflect them. Adam O’Neal led off with a relatively innocuous charge that in 2012 and 2013 Reid’s campaign staff spent some $30,000 buying appreciation gifts for his donors from a store owned by his granddaughter. It was a small thing: The amount spent by his staff was seven times more than the staff spent elsewhere, combined. In the […]
By Ted Dunlap, on April 13th, 2014 We won round 1. These people dropped everything, drove to an obscure ranch in Nevada and were told over BLM loudspeakers, Go away. We will shoot you. We will kill you. They stayed. They approached the line. They crossed the line. What kind of people are these? The kind I want in my community, that’s for sure. I was puzzled when my intrepid reporter who sacrifices himself watching the mainstream media propaganda machine told me they were actually covering the Bundy Ranch story and pull-back by BLM. After complete silence prior to that – worse than silence, they continue to play ridiculous Bread-And-Circus stories while warmongers work their Ukraine and Nevada plans. So now it shows up on the teevee. […]
