Why you need a Constitutional Sheriff and how to get one

In 1997 Sheriff Jay Prinz and Sheriff Richard Mack resisted the federal orders to implement the gun control wet dream Brady Act in their counties. The NRA in a rare positive move, financed the lawsuit to the Supreme Court where Prinz/Mack had our rights upheld. That preserved a lot of liberty against the totalitarian juggernaut and confirmed the rights of people in this country to have a Constitutional Sheriff on their side. I discuss that and more in this upper left video. Further information can be found at: https://www.teddunlap.net/?s=constitutional+sheriff, https://www.idaholiberty.com/?s=constitutional+sheriff, and https://www.bitterrootbugle.com/?s=posse. I published a lot more information than what those searches will turn up, but it is all linked from there. Eight years ago I ran as a […]

constitutional sheriff

Elizabeth Hodge interviewed me when I was running for Ada County sheriff. I just tripped over it today. The interview explains the concept as well as I have seen it done. It is still valid, and incredibly valuable to those USofA counties who have elected constitutional sheriffs. Coming out of nowhere with no significant support, I shocked the 20-year incumbent by garnering 40,943 votes. The incumbent was startled. He had not been in any contest that close, and sure as heck didn’t expect it from my campaign. Unfortunately, it was only 26% of the votes. I suspect $10,000 in campaign finances could have won it for us. I’m happy nobody did that to me. I like where I am. […]

Constitutional sheriff

The Sheriff was the highest law of the land prior to the Constitution. That position was deliberately unchanged by the Constitution. The sheriff is close enough to the people to be within their control. There is NO state or federal agency that can lawfully over-ride that. The framers of the Constitution thoughtfully put this in place to protect the people from excesses of central government. There are over 100 constitutional sheriffs in the USA who know and operate on this foundation. From coast to coast, county-by-county, sheriffs are protecting the principles that made this country great. This is true in over 200 USA counties and as the willingness to oppress grows more apparent, more sheriffs are rising to the occasion. […]

Constitutional sheriff

The Constitution of these united states defines the county sheriff as the highest law enforcement office in the country. The FDA is told they cannot prevent Amish farmers from selling unprocessed milk. The US […]

Ravalli Sheriff

I was disappointed to see that the incumbent Ravalli County Sheriff was running unopposed. He is not THAT good. Nobody is. Most importantly, he is not among the growing number of Constitutional Sheriffs in the USofA. I did a little feasibility study with some selected friends. At a meeting Saturday, I was strongly encouraged to run for this office. We are off and running. We have until the 27th of this month to gather 700 registered Ravalli County voter signatures in order to have a choice November 4th. The county sheriff is more important than most people understand. Please look at the PAGES linked on the left column of this website for more information. It matters – to you – […]

maybe my posse idea was simply ahead of its time

I first developed and published the concept of neighborhood posses nine years ago.  It was an integral part of my plan as I made an impressive run for Ada County Sheriff.  It was an excellent idea then, and was equally valuable in the distant past as well as in any future I can imagine.  Communities need to organize for mutual defense, protection and preservation of order. But it did not fly. It has not happened anywhere I have lived. There is no significant difference between a posse organized by the local sheriff’s office and one built ground-up within the community. You and your neighbors could do this – and are more likely to, than being lucky enough to have a […]

Freedom Fighters USofA summer tour

America’s Frontline Doctors, Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers and other key figures are combining resources to bring US (pun intended) the message that liberty is still possible. The tour announcement came to my e-mail this morning triggering me to spend over an hour pursuing the links. As I went the decision to travel to one of these events solidified – on the condition they came within a few hours drive from my remote burg. They did it. I encourage you to rummage around the information links I share below and consider joining for knowledge and inspiration. For me I am not 100% on the presenters and champions. Expecting perfection from all Enemies of The State would be a ridiculous standard […]

sources of news

I am a news hound. Not the mainstream media propaganda machine, but news that has a chance of being correct. I share my favorite sources with you here. In every case, you have to think about what you are reading, seeing and hearing. It should be quite obvious to you that modern media tools can make anything appear to be other than it really is. We cannot even believe our eyes and ears. That is good exercise for our brains. Use your head for something besides a hat rack. The silicon valley Internet giants are every bit as bad as the lamestream media monolith. They are deliberately censoring information outside of their agenda. Worse, their agenda is deliberately bad […]

Libertarian Party of Ravalli County

I had to work to track down the Libertarian Party shortly after I arrived in the Boise area. It was a handful of guys who spent $6,000 Idaho state income tax checkoff money every year on burgers, brews, pizzas and inconsequential travel. Over the next two years I wrested control from them, gambled my savings on an outstanding state convention that came within a few dollars of repaying my loan. The Libertarian Party of Idaho quickly grew to 85 people with a lot of visible activity. Now I am the interim chair of the Ravalli County Libertarian Party. Neither I nor the chairman who handed me the baton have come up with invigorating ideas or activities, but I do not […]

anti-gun juggernaut shot down in Virginia

Big money and political tricksters turned Virginia from conservative to fascist. They couldn’t help themselves from doing a happy dance on the vanquished freedom lovers. Not so fast, Bucko. Your political trick did not bury the human spirit that quite apparently remains alive and well in the seat of the American Revolution. The victorious Virginia Democrat majority eagerly announced their state-wide gun confiscation scheme before they even took office. The Virginians fought back before the bewildered political snakes could even blink. Lovely show. Way-to-go-Jeffersonians. With a bit of luck mixed with good karma and strong human spirit, there will be repeats of this across the USofA.   Excerpts below. Click the links for the full Monty. This is the […]

Who has my back?

A friend who rarely goes out unarmed was relating the attitude expressed by some in a hiking group of hers. Me, carry a defensive weapon??? Why should I, Jane has my back? (not her name) The question then becomes who has Jane’s back? Many of us are defensively armed for more than personal preservation. It is a civic duty, and obligation we feel for our community – both large and small. Could I watch a handful of thugs beat somebody to death? … and live with myself??? I know the answer is a lifetime of nightmares and recriminations about what I should have done. Yet I have no hopes of ever becoming a martial arts master … other than […]

Dems Debut National Ammo Control Bill in Congress

03/14/19 6:00 AM | by Chris Eger A plan backed by anti-gun groups and Democrats on Capitol Hill would require background checks or gun permits for most ammo transfers. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com) An effort to close what bill’s supporters term the “ammo loophole” would make mandatory background checks the nationwide norm for ammunition sales. Under measures proposed in the House by Florida’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Senate by Connecticut’s Richard Blumenthal, would-be ammunition buyers would have to be first vetted by the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System. The lawmakers, allied with national gun control groups, say the move to add controls to bullet sales would help save lives. Wasserman Schultz’s bill, entered Wednesday as HR 1705 with […]

community preparedness teams

It is foolhardy for people to think they will survive a major upheaval alone, with their immediate family, by retreating to a cave in the woods or other macho-man ideas I have heard voiced. We aren’t mountain lions in a place where game is plentiful for our population. Realistically, we humans need a huge variety of specializations, strengths and personalities that come from a fairly large tribe … not to mention significant genetic diversity for long-term survival of our offspring. Any plan that does not take survival of the community into account falls short of good by a wide margin. I have mixed feelings about the Oath Keepers group, but for the most part very positive. They get A LOT […]
