Waves – best demonstration I have seen

Waves on bodies of water behave similarly to all other waves in nature. Understanding wave behavior is important to radio antenna designers; which is a role I dabble in, and aspire to improve upon.

I am currently teaching a class on amateur radio to a group of future hams. For their edification as well as my own I went looking for the video below. It was hard to find, so I saved and uploaded it to my Brighteon video channel.

During my search, I watched a lot of instructional videos on waves, and in particular on the electro-magnetic waves such as those that carry our radio signals. I have a lot to learn, and many of those were hard for me to absorb.

Dr John Shive created the great demonstration of wave behavior in the video below. He epitomizes the old-school professors who made USofA universities into world leaders. The wave modeling device he created and uses has not been improved on for reaching minds like mine despite all the wonderful tech and AI available today.

This website is a gift to my community from a pensioner dedicating a bit of his life attempting to help preserve humanity, integrity, honor and liberty – a world under attack. If I help one person find our side of the rampart, or help the resolve of one who found it via another path, my time and money have been well spent.

You can show your gratitude and support via credit card, Paypal or, if you can figure out how, send a tip my way in meat space.

Thank you, Ted Dunlap
