white stuff getting in the way

Through the spring, summer, fall, I was prioritizing having our homestead prepared for the snow management season. Strangely, I was simultaneously putting off all those interesting, rewarding projects “that could be done indoors during winter”. We are there. I am there. Meanwhile, that quality time in my wood-heated, well-outfitted cozy shop keeps getting kicked to the curb by mandatory snow management around the castle. The university of hard knocks taught me that snow sheets and drifts allowed to set into glaciers and sheet ice are quite unpleasant around the farm. Some things absolutely MUST be done on their schedule, not mine. Count me in on Montanans For Global Warming… Though I keep missing the meetings because I am either […]

401Ks turning to dust

Yesterday afternoon I produced a video follow-up to yesterday morning’s Bitterroot Bugle post The Hyperinflation Survival Guide. I share that recording here. I want you to survive, possibly even thrive in the upcoming New Economy. Fortunes are made and lost in every economic upheaval throughout history. There have been many. All were the product of greedy, selfish, even malicious people at the top. Often the uprising of slaves and peasants violently took the lives of their tormentors. That has a certain symmetry to it that serves well to warn a generation or two of would-be sociopaths. It would, in its own way be a nice punctuation mark to the end of the schemes they cooked up. Regardless of punctuation, […]

The Hyperinflation Survival Guide

Money changers carry loads of low value notes in wheelbarrows on Somalian streets –This was the title of a book published in 1989, sponsored by Harry E. Figgie, Jr, chairman and CEO of Figgie International. Concerned about the future operating environment for his company while the clear trajectory of the world’s central banksters was to print their paper currencies to death, he sent a team to study environments that recently experienced, or were currently suffering through exactly that. He shared what they found in Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina in a short, succinct book, The Hyperinflation Survival Guide. While Amazon (linked) shows it as published in 2003, my hardcopy is copyright 1989. One of the more interesting findings were complete changes […]

The Veezuh business model

A funny thing happened to me while researching a possible upgrade to my wire-feed welder. I am very happy with the Hobart I bought a few years ago, except when I work with thicker steel … as it turns out, quite a bit of my metal work is with heavier metal. In those cases what is called the “duty cycle” is a problem. For every one minute of welding, my machine needs five or ten minutes to cool down. I found that advances in electronics has reached into wire-feed welder design. Now for about the price of the old, solid, reliable light-duty, but heavy weight transformer-based welder I can have an inverter-based welder with close to 100% duty cycle on […]

being thankful

Among the things I am thankful for is that the manipulators have not messed up the language and culture of Thanksgiving Day. It remains on Thursday and is still widely celebrated as a day with families coast-to-coast gathering and giving thanks for what they do have. My wife and I have now crested 20 years together and the team is holding up well, giving both of us comfort, joy, peace, support and happiness. Though many have extolled the virtues of unpalatable yams, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, there is nobody forcing me to gag them down… and so many wonderful things I do enjoy are all readily available. Weather is not unpleasant, our homestead is strong and we are […]

The DC Swamp shuffle step dance is giving Disco a run for its money

There are some people getting all twitterpated over movement among the blathering idiots and sociopaths in The Swamp. I cannot share their enthusiasm. Two pithy sayings come to mind: How do you know when a politician is lying? His lips are moving. Left wing and right wing are both parts of the same bird. The DC Swamp’s main and only industry is graft, corruption and power. If you are hoping someone there will ride in on a white charger, wearing his shining armor and save you, I have a super good deal for you on ocean front property in Montana. No. Not even THAT GUY is going to save a lethargic, ignorant public. This story has been played out thousands […]

Little Boxes by Pete Seeger

I was surprised to listen recently and realize how deep this song went. I missed the point when it came out, but at 14 years old was pretty shallow myself. Many years later I saw the tract homes covering the hillside south of San Francisco, was immediately reminded of, and began singing the song to myself. I didn’t realize then it was that very scene inspired the song, but it sure did fit. I embedded the audio track below – essentially the You Tube version without the tracking and advertising. https://www.bitterrootbugle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Little-Boxes-by-Pete-Seeger.webm Wikipedia covers the history of it nicely. I excerpt here. Over there you can read a university professor claiming that the conformity Malvina and Pete were against is actually […]

This is so hard to watch

I am almost overwhelmed by the number of people who talk as if the voters were stupid, insane or ignorant. That is not what we just witnessed. Hello vote-tallying fraud on a grand scale. Who could miss this? Yet there is a disappointingly large contingent who believe what the presstitutes spew. NO! You damned fools, the voters did not lose their minds. They merely lost their votes. The voters did not select the OBVIOUSLY INCOMPETENT, CRIMINAL CANDIDATES. The vote talliers did. The voters did not make a darn bit of difference. Get angry. Get violently angry. THAT is the only way to turn this machine off. […]

Maricopa County ring any bells?

Now two election cycles in a row, rampant election fraud has been exposed in Arizona’s most populated county. When have we heard of that county before? Oh yeah, that was the one with the wildly popular law-and-order sheriff* whose posse exposed the Obama birth certificate fraud. Yeah, I remember him. Somehow tons of money and deep state actions got him removed as the top law enforcement officer in Maricopa County. Shortly thereafter, Arizona stopped voting “conservative”, according to their election tallies. The official state vote counter thinks she stole the Arizona governorship fair and square. The new sheriff in town doesn’t see anything wrong. Don’t be making any silly connections. * Joe Arpaio served as the 36th Sheriff of Maricopa […]

shop heat

One of the real treats in my life is a heated shop. I have a lovely collection of tools and workspaces enabling me to putter with woodwork, metalwork and a bit of mechanical maintenance. I am not great at any of it, but pretty darn good at solving the little challenges and opportunities life sends my way. I have spent some time turning my Jack-of-all-Trades persona into a way to make an honest living, but only at the wrong place at the wrong time. The Fixer business did not blossom, but my website The Fixer.biz is still kicking around as a place where I document some of my creations and share ideas I have come up with. I wish I […]

oddities, irregularities, peculiarities, incongruities

As long as we are stuck in the theater, we might as well finish the popcorn before stepping out for some fresh air. This sampling of fraud, theft, and deceit is the tip of the iceberg. Apparently Florida, or more accurately Florida’s governor exempted them, but few other states escaped. I doubt low population states mattered enough to bother rigging. Thus Montana and the Dakotas may have escaped, but I have no evidence regarding them. I admit there are quite a few examples in this collection. Don’t miss one of my favorites. I saved it for last. – Ted […]

alternatives to lamestream media

Where to go for “news”? I do not have the stomach for much that the presstitutes present. I get my fill listening to others tell me what they are shown and understand of current events, as well as bits I catch passing by as others are viewing the spewing. Some claim that FAUX NEWS is ‘the real thing’. It is controlled opposition: Just enough truth to capture those who might otherwise escape, but many topics are off limits for them, or twisted beyond all recognition. (FUBAR). Nope. FAUX is designed for the above-average thinker who is still willing to believe there might be truth to be found in mass media. You might want to note which outlets are owned by […]

Color me surprised

Well, unless you read my post yesterday. Of course the cheating was rampant. That’s what these folks do. I publish below a random sampling of election anomalies. This is the tip of the iceberg. Keep in mind that NOBODY is seriously fighting this fraud. Lamestream media will pretend the results mean something. Just like they repetitively do with the unelected, empty-headed LOSER they continue to call “president”. Who buys this crap? Anybody seen investigative reporters on major media in the last decade??? […]

election theater

I stopped by from my useful work around the homestead today for a quick look at the show. No surprises here. Human waves of people completely fed up with their rulers, but still believing elections will make a difference are pouring in to polling places. Whoops. Looks like that Republican landslide we feared. QUICK! Implement Plan B. No, make that Plan C. Plan B is that they own the Rs as much as they own the Ds. “It’s not who votes that counts. It’s who counts the votes.” -Joseph Stalin Were lamestream media not completely owned by the same group who own the politicians and the vote-counting mechanism, you might read or hear about the ‘sudden, inexplicable’ breakdown in […]
