that other 9-11

Titular President Ohbummer was running for re-election. His handlers developed a sure-fire plan to make him appear statesmanly and clever right before election day. It was not overly complicated like That Other 9-11, but could help a weak man appear to be strong. They offered the towel-ey-ban an armory full of guns, grenades, rockets and other fun toys from the Benghazi embassy armory in exchange for a scheduled slam-dunk kidnapping of the Ambassador. They get to keep the armory contents, but have to return Ambassador Stevens as soon as OhBummer asks real nicely on the world stage. Don’t worry, we will make sure there aren’t any defenders present. Walk in, grab the ambassador, collect all your prizes, drive away […]

9-11 things I’ll not soon forget

I’ll start my list with the event name itself. It seemed like a stupid thing to call the package of things that happened that day, but all major media outlets and all leading politicians immediately started calling it “Nine Eleven”… kind-of like reading from a script. It would be a decade before I was far enough down the rabbit hole to realize how much the perpetrators love their numerology, and that the timing of the big show was particularly special to them. Speaking of reading from scripts, the BBC talking heads were in front of a live feed of WTC 7 burning when they announced the collapse of the building a long time ahead of its ultimate demolition. There […]

Detroit leads the way

Somehow this poor city keeps itself near the top of many lists. Most progressive, most murders, most poverty, most crime, most Democrats, most migrants … lots of cool stuff, depending on your values. While that statement might strike us as ridiculous, there are obviously people who put up with all of it. Current estimates say 673,104 of ’em, with only a handful living in the comfortable top. – Ted – “In the 1950’s [America was] the richest nation, the richest city on earth was Detroit. They voted for change and so now it is the poorest city in America. At the same time, the nation of South Korea, of all the nations on earth, was third from the bottom. […]

The Transformed Wife

I confess to not having perused this website. You are on your own there. On the other hand, I did read the entire article below and agree almost completely. See my note at the very end for my little quibbles. Definitely not enough to negate all, or ANY of the good stuff Lori Alexander put into it. For any who still don’t know how nature works, men are supposed to be men and women are supposed to be women. When you see something that does not fit that definition, it is an aberration and won’t work well … anywhere … at anything useful … ever! Below you will run across the phrase, “Feminism makes women angry because their minds are […]

upcoming amateur radio class

My favorite radio instructor is presenting a class leading to the second, middle level FCC amateur radio operations license. Eric brings comprehensive knowledge, empathy, and energy to the classroom. A fine set of qualifications for anyone who wants to learn the subject. If you have your Technician license, Eric will lead you to successfully cresting the next hurdle into the world of short, medium and long range radio communications. If you do not yet have any amateur radio license, grab both the technician and general books and learn from him while you study up for the first … and quite possibly pass them both by the end of class. – Ted – In case you wish to print it out, […]

DEAR MR. SECURITY AGENT

WHEN IT COMES TO GUN CONFISCATION… Posted by Matt Bracken Dear Mr. Security Agent… Federal, state, or local. You, the man or woman with the badge, the sworn LEO or FLEA and those who inhabit the many law enforcement niches in between and on all sides. This essay is directed to you, because in the end, how this turmoil about gun control turns out will depend largely upon your decisions and actions over the coming months and years. Why is this essay titled Dear Mr. Security Agent, when it dwells mainly upon the media and coastal-dwelling urban liberals and their Utopian belief in the benefits of new gun control laws in the United States? Mr. Security Agent will protest […]

the horsemen of the apocalypse

I keep meaning to write (again) about the numerous precipices we gambol about upon. Agricultural, financial, war, biological, cultural and several more mostly man-made disasters are poised to destroy the world as we know it (TEOTWAWKI). James Howard Kunstler just did that job. Not exactly as I would, but close enough. One thing for certain, there are more than four horsemen riding towards us this time. – Ted The Quickening Support this blog by visiting Jim’s Patreon Page NEW: A New Video Message From Your Blogger JHK An ill wind threatens to rake and churn up the Atlantic coast this Labor Day as a live-action metaphor auguring a more general wreckage to come in the final four months of 2019. How Art Changes Consciousness

By Jacob Devaney Art can heal us, inspire us, and alter our brain chemistry With so much talk about the evidence of the positive effects of yoga and meditation, you might be surprised at what scientific research also says about how art effects the brain. Long before modern neuroscience, artists were creating works to inspire people and today complex brain imaging scans can show us just how art changes the physiology of our brains. Contemplation, observing, and taking in beauty all stimulate pleasure centers within the brain while increasing blood flow by up to 10% in the medial orbitofrontal cortex. This can lead to an elevated state of consciousness, wellbeing, and better emotional health. The blood flow increased for a beautiful painting just as […]

uninformed VS ill informed

If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed. ― Mark Twain William Randolph Hearst built his empire selling misinformation. The only thing that has changed since then has been the technology. The predominance of propoganda over truth remains the same. The rich and powerful use whatever tools they can to retain and enhance their positions. We are at the most amazing time in history where the truth is available to those who seek it, and who work to separate wheat from chaff. You are here. You are among the seekers. – Ted   This Week from the Ministry of Disinformation By Taylor Day Dave Chappelle hurts the Left’s feelings The entertainment sections of […]

time warp floor covering

Our bedroom has been mired in 70s shag carpet for two years of our residency. Obviously for over 40 years before as well. Who made this stuff thinking it would sell? What miracle of marketing moved it into people’s homes? What kind of people thought this looked good? Ever? Not me then, now or anywhere in between. Even more mind boggling is the nicely finished hardwood floor the red/orange/green shag hid. Yesterday we began the chore of moving OUT of our ‘master bedroom’, uncovering the hardwood, cleaning it up, hauling a couple hundred unwieldy pounds of stinky 50-year-old carpet outside, then moving back in. Today we finished moving back in and cutting the carpet into manageable, moderately-heavy, stinky chunks […]
