While most of the world was on the edge of its seat as the war drum crescendo reached its peak, either the aggressors pulled their punches, were less competent than expected, or the enemy was stronger than the attackers.
Whatever the causes, our power grid is still up, US and Russian navy ships are all still afloat and our atmosphere’s radioactivity level is relatively unchanged.
We have gone from DEFCON 5 to some lower number.
(Defense readiness Condition on a 1-5 scale)
Last night I had to take a chill pill, shut off further input and get myself back to a more Stoic view of my world. The elites are going to do whatever they do. I cannot let them control me any more than the results of a contest between two sports teams I am not on.
This morning I scrambled around the Internet to see what happened, what did not happen and gather insights as to who, what, why and how?
Your remember the Skripal poisoning in London? Presenting ZERO EVIDENCE, British officials blamed the Russians for the Earthshakingly Horrible Crime of using a poison that almost killed two people (while they kill 20 a day around the Med). As a response to this phony crime, they and fellow criminal ruling elites blew diplomatic niceties, convention and common-sense out of the water by forcing Russian diplomats to shut down embassies, offices, evacuate their premises and go home to Russia.
The criminal globalists also used this false flag event to ramp up their trade war against Russia with a large number of additional sanctions on exports from them. They are somehow acting shocked that the Russians have responded by considering ceasing or suspending international cooperation in the nuclear sphere, rocket engine building and aircraft building between Russian companies and organizations under US jurisdiction … along with cutting off titanium shipments to Boeing.
“Ouch” … “Not fair” … cries the bully.
Now the Skripal story that the Russians have been exposing as fake all along falls apart.
Swiss lab says ‘BZ toxin’ used in Salisbury, not produced in Russia, was in US & UK service
“We get the impression that the British government is deliberately pursuing the policy of destroying all possible evidence, classifying all remaining materials and making a transparent investigation impossible,” the Russian ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, said during a press conference on Friday.
Humbled by exposure of their lies? Chagrined? Sorry. Not their way. Nothing short of a full-power baseball bat to the face will slow them down.
They move on to their next fake event, the chemical weapon attack in Syria.
Having publicly announced final pull out of Syria, giving up on continued air support for the CIA assets left fighting the losing war to replace Assad with a puppet of their choosing, the USofA suddenly finds a reason to attack Syria and their allies Russia and Iran.
Those awful Syrians, who have attacked nobody, completely surrounded the last rebel enclave, all US troops evacuated, a day or two from total victory inexplicably deploy chemical weapons which, by the way, they removed from their arsenal under UN supervision two years ago.
Very conservative analyst Gerald Celente sent a Trends Alert to his subscribers, saying in part:
“Our concern in alerting subscribers of an outbreak of War with implications that will spread far beyond the Middle East, is the magnitude of destruction these militarily powerful nations are capable of unleashing.
In the days that followed the alleged chemical attack in Syria, U.S. President Donald Trump engaged a series of menacing tweets promising imminent military action against Syria, claiming “missiles are coming.”
Moreover, on Wednesday, following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s vow to “shoot down any U.S. missiles” aimed at Syria, Trump tweeted:
“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’ You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”
Enjoying it is, of course, bad when you are Assad, but good when you are “I’m really good at killing people” Obama or “We came, we saw, he died” Hitlary.
But there is no evidence of Syrian government actually using chemicals to attack anyone. Proof??? We don’t need no stinking evidence when it comes to punishing people we accuse … or even destroying entire countries.
Russia Claims to Have Located Witnesses to Staged ‘Chemical’ Event in Douma
Russia’s Tass news agency claimed early on April 13th, that Russian investigators have located and spoken with persons in the Syrian city of Douma who witnessed the staging of the videos that the U.S-and-UK-financed White Helmets group supplied, and which videos the U.S., French and UK Governments use to justify their planned invasion of Syria.
According to Tass’s report, two medical personnel who were on duty on 7 April when the alleged patients were being rushed into the emergency room, say that White Helmets personnel accompanied the alleged victims, and filmed them while bringing them in. According to Tass, “When the patients were receiving first aid, unidentified people burst into the hospital, some were holding video cameras. These people started shouting, fanning hysteria. They carried hose and douched all present with water crying out that all of them had been exposed to poisonous agents.”
Then the provocateurs and film crews promptly disappeared leaving the puzzled victims and medical staff behind. Interviews with the victims uncover zero evidence of any chemicals stronger that H2O. No matter. The truth is unimportant when you have major wars to start.
The Trump Regime Is Insane
Paul Craig RobertsIs it insane to push for war with Russia, a major nuclear power?
Is it insane to threaten Russia and bring false charges against her?
Is it insane to brag about killing “hundreds of Russians”? https://news.antiwar.com/2018/04/12/pompeo-russians-met-their-match-us-killed-hundreds-of-them/A normal person would answer “yes” to the three questions. So what does this tell us about Trump’s government as these insane actions are the principle practice of Trump’s government?
There is no shortage of knowledgeable people concerned. The New York University Russian Studies expert interview with Tucker Carlson covers it very well in this 5-minute video.
While lamestream media seems to have dropped the subject, I have not forgotten the USofA Secretary of State, Vice President and other top oaf-fishals setting up the CIA overthrow of the Ukrainian government and subsequent installation of puppets including the VP Biden’s son who had recently been tossed out of the US Army for cocaine use.
In an interesting twist to all this comes an analysis that says the war hawks may win more territory in the Med, but lose it in Europe.
Popov: If the US wants War in Syria, it will get War in Ukraine
Despite the absence of evidence from WTO specialists, Washington and the Western bloc continue to insist that Damascus is guilty of using chemical weapons. President Donald Trump has even compared the Syrian government to an “animal” enjoying the use of chemical weapons. I am unaware of any animal that has ever used chemical weapons, but Trump’s moral claims are dubious seeing as how he is the leader of the superpower which is the only state in history that has used nuclear weapons against civilians, as the US did in 1945 in Japan.
A confrontational scenario is increasingly likely. The US, and maybe its allies, will strike Syria. This scenario is not pre-ordained, and last-minute changes are possible. But the question of a US missile strike against Syrian territory can be considered closed – in the most optimal case, such a strike would be a “light” one and not result in considerable, tangible human and material losses.
President Trump has voiced a lot of big words, but this is not necessarily worse than the fact that his militaristic attitude is supported by many in American society, or at least the establishment. Rapidly losing its status as the only superpower and suffering defeat in its foreign policy war, the US needs like never before a symbolic victory in a symbolic war. The only problem is that the war in Syria, even if the US manipulates a symbolic victory out of it, would by no means be symbolic in terms of the price that Americans themselves would pay.
Nobody outside the thrall of lamestream media buys it. The psychopaths don’t care. We get war anyway.
Or do we?
Over 100 missiles were launched at Syria. Far less than half hit any targets at all. Syrian anti-missile defenses appear to be pretty good. Significantly, the Russians are about to sell (/trade) their advanced S-400 systems to Syria. Those were not used.
The Pentagon has no data on how well these work in the field, while the Russians and their allies know more about USofA missiles today than they did yesterday.
But the 60% or so shoot-down rate is only part of the story. Apparently the hawks backed off a notch from targeting targets that would trigger the promised Russian response “If one Russian citizen were killed”. The targets actually hit were not militarily significant – though I am sure evidence of the chemical attack scam has mostly been obliterated.
Are We Over the US/UK Fomented Crisis In Syria?
Paul Craig Roberts
It appears from the very limited US missile attack, most of which were intercepted and destroyed by Syrian air defenses, that the US military prevailed over the crazed John Bolton and carefully avoided a strike that would have resulted in a Russian response. No significant Syrian site appears to have been targeted, and no Russians were endangered. https://www.fort-russ.com/2018/04/in-depth-syria-stuns-world-thwarts-us-attack/
The US ambassador to Russia said that the US strikes were coordinated with Russia to avoid a great power confrontation. https://www.rt.com/news/424132-us-russia-syria-strikes/ Russia Insider concludes that the exercise was a face-saver for Trump https://russia-insider.com/en/out-whimper-trump-blinks-delivers-limited-strikes/ri23132
The main effect seems to be that Trump has further discredited himself and the US by violating the UN Charter and international law and committing an act of aggression, which is a war crime for which Nazi civilian and military officials were executed. Russia’s President Putin said that the wanton and illegal use of force by Washington has had “a devastating impact on the whole system of international relations” and called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. China also condemned the illegal US attack. https://www.fort-russ.com/2018/04/china-says-us-led-attacks-against-syria-are-illegal-and-against-international-law/

This is important. What stopped the blowup is significant, but the threat is not gone. Paul Craig Roberts does a good job there of covering the current state of affairs.
