Suppressor Deregulation Bill Gains Momentum in the House

Suppressor Deregulation Bill Gains Momentum in the House Click on the Take Action button to urge your congressman, , to cosponsor H.R. 327, the Hearing Protection Act.   Put the Second Amendment on offense by becoming a GOA Patriot member today!   Suppressor Deregulation Bill Gains Momentum in the House Dear Ted: A year ago, amending the provisions of the overbearing and unconstitutional National Firearms Act would have been considered “a long shot.” And yet, here we are.  A free-standing bill to remove suppressors from the act — dubbed the “Hearing Protection Act” — has 146 cosponsors, including several Democrats.  That bill is H.R. 367. Now Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC) has included the Hearing Protection Act in a larger […]

stargazing tonight

Saturn and its rings will be illuminated in sunlight when the planet reaches full tilt in direct opposition to Earth. Stargazers will also be able to compare cloud bands on both Saturn and the giant planet Jupiter, with the best time to catch both planets tipped to be a few hours after sunset, just as Saturn rises and before Jupiter sets. The best views of Saturn will be around midnight… as far away from city lights as you can get. Saturn reached opposition on June 15, when Saturn, Earth and the sun were all in a straight line, with Earth in the middle. Opposition provides the best and closest views of Saturn and several of its brightest moons. To see […]

Aluminum Toxicity: 4 Ways to Detox Your Brain & Body

from the website: The Truth About Cancer .com According to the Alzheimer’s Association of America, “…few experts believe that everyday sources of aluminum pose any threat.” Really? Not according to Chris Exley, PhD, of Keele University in England who is an expert on aluminum toxicity. Professor Exley has been studying the impact of aluminum on the human body since 1984 and states that: There has been a strong link between human exposure to aluminum and the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease for half a century or more. Dr. Exley is not alone in his thinking. He is part of a growing number of experts making the link between aluminum toxicity and conditions like autism, diabetes, neuropathy, and cancer, as well as Alzheimer’s. You […]

deployable radio

This ammo box is actually a handy way to carry a 2-way, 2-meter radio. I built this organizer for a friend’s radio setup. He gave me the radio, battery and fuse block to work with. Customer specifications said it should be tipped on its side, opened and operational from that position. The radio was 20 centimeters too deep to fit as requested even pressed against top and bottom. Plus I wanted room to keep it from contact with the metal box. What you see here is actually my third prototype. With the first, I ASSUMED the radio would fit in the box exactly as specified by the customer. It is not so much that ‘the customer is always right’, […]

Woodpile Report

The current Woodpile Report is a good’un … as usual… maybe moreso. Regardless, I highly recommend going there and reading all of it. Skimming is allowed, but I suspect you will read. Prepare to bookmark and come back to finish. I give you one compelling bit below. Click the title to go see the entirety. … The Woodpile Report As I mentioned last week, there are a number of economists predicting a monster run up in the stock exchanges—near 30,000 on the DJI around the end of the third quarter—then a sputtering stall with a quivering violin note in the background, followed by an unstoppable, cascading crash sweeping all before it in the grandest reset since Pompeii. They present loads-o’-supporting […]

analog calculators

In this age of converting everything to digital, bits, bytes and button pushing, my recent trip to a beginners’ long-range shooting school (see my first 1K) brought the power of slide rules back into my world. I am also [re-]discovering the beautiful metric system of measurements. The normal, average, mundane, commonplace answer to everything today is “I have a computer that does that”. Substitute “smart phone”, calculator or other electronic alternative to knowing how to actually do stuff and you have the answer to 99.9% of the computational questions asked today. I am not going to conjure up ways in which that dependence on electronics could fail us. Needless to say there are times, places and circumstances where it could. […]

wicked laws

“I say that you cannot administer a wicked law impartially. You can only destroy. You can only punish. I warn you that a wicked law, like cholera, destroys everyone it touches — its upholders as well as its defiers.” — Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. Lee Source: the book, Inherit the Wind http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Jerome.Lawrence.Quote.EA1E “You want to know what this was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and […]

DUI vs drunk on power

Literally half a lifetime ago, I read a great essay in either Car & Driver, or Road & Track (I used to subscribe to both) about alcohol-impaired driving. It was a thoughtful, honest appraisal developed with real world field testing. Different people react differently to consumption of beer, wine and liquor. Some at .08 had distinct reduction in driving competence. Others could out-drive them at double that. If you have spent any time around such people, YOU KNOW THAT. But the assumption of prohibitionist legislators is that drink is BAD… any and all. The only limit to what rules they can lay on drinkers is what the legislatures can get away with… almost no limits at all in Utah. In […]

pilot error

I took this photo today. Some things are so blatant, so obvious I have a hard time imagining anyone ignoring them. Here we have one such example. These behemoths are very expensive to keep levitated. The owners don’t often waste money .. that is, they plot the most efficient route to get the job done, file that flight plan with the FAA, then pay their pilots and program their autopilots to execute that most economical route to their destination. This morning I was supposed to ignore, or write off as an “oopsie” this sharp right turn directly over The Bitterroot. They are spraying us and our environment. They are poisoning the Earth. They are killing nature. You have to work […]

rifle sale

Years ago my dream rifle was an M1A. I ended up with an AR-10 scratching that 30-caliber semi-automatic rifle itch. But the M1As are still respectable rifles. I was the spotter in the course he mentions below, and can vouch for the shots he claims. That is also my handwriting in the data book where I logged the shots as he made them. You don’t often get a rifle with every shot written into a data book… warm, cold, 100 yards, 200 yards, 300 yards … 1,000 yards. While you might not shoot exactly like he did, you can be darn close simply copying the scope settings we put into that book. I notice he includes the ammo used for […]

global warming

This goes on a bit long, but I am combining 4 different articles in their entirety. They also include video clips. While the global weather manipulators chemspray our beloved Bitterroot, they simultaneously expect the peasants to wear hair shirts to prevent human weather modification. Aaugh! —————– Global Warming Swindle by Thomas Sowell Britain’s Channel 4 has produced a devastating documentary titled “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” It has apparently not been broadcast by any of the networks in the United States. But, fortunately, it is available on the Internet. Distinguished scientists specializing in climate and climate-related fields talk in plain English and present readily understood graphs showing what a crock the current global warming hysteria is. These include scientists from […]

uninformed vs misinformed

“So, you listen to me. Listen to me! Television is not the truth. Television’s a god-damned amusement park. Television is a circus, a carnival, a traveling troupe of acrobats, storytellers, dancers, singers, jugglers, sideshow freaks, lion tamers, and football players. We’re in the boredom-killing business… We deal in illusions, man. None of it is true! But you people sit there day after day, night after night, all ages, colors, creeds. We’re all you know. You’re beginning to believe the illusions we’re spinning here. You’re beginning to think that the tube is reality and that your own lives are unreal. You do whatever the tube tells you. You dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your […]

special airplane

The world’s largest airplane just rolled out of its hanger. This is the most ridiculous looking aircraft I have ever seen. It begs for treatment by The Onion. You may want to check with them occasionally to see what the professionals came up with. Meanwhile, I’ll give it a shot, and them some food for thought. Boeing rolls out transporter for clans who don’t get along, but are forced to travel together. FAA rules force airliners to accommodate gender-gymnasts and homophobes on future flights. Airbus halves the time spent loading and unloading passengers with four-door airliner. Cessna, Superglue and JB-Weld partnership develops very special airplane. Billionaire Paul Allen turns Boy Scouts balsa-wood project from his youth into full scale […]

Bilderberg 2017 is Here

The Rockefeller/Rothschild Hub Meets to Discuss Trump’s Presidency By Arjun Walia Collective Evolution June 2, 2017 “We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march toward a world government. . . .  The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.” –  David Rockefeller (source) […]
