certified olive oil

I am proud that I do not unquestioningly accept pronouncements from OFFICIALS. But the University of California, Davis olive oil story broadcast all over the lamestream and Internet media sucked me in.

I hate to admit I was faked out by the fake story on fake olive oil, 🙁
but am happy to publish the other side. 🙂

Once you read the information on the graphics below, you will distrust Davis too.

The good news is that you can trust olive oil that carries the North America Olive Oil Association label.

I received the following very polite e-mail about my republishing of the UC Davis story:

Hi Ted,

I noticed your recent article on olive oil brands falsely labeling their products and would like to offer more information on behalf of the Carapelli and Bertolli brands. I work with Deoleo, the parent company of Carapelli, Bertolli and Carbonell olive oils. Deoleo prides itself on the authenticity and quality of its products, as well as its veracity in labeling.

I’ve attached some information on UC Davis’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil Report from 2011, which is often cited as the source for fake olive oil investigations. Most notably, the North American Olive Oil Association has reported that more than 98% of olive oil sold in the U.S. is authentic

Please let me know if you have any questions on this information. Thank you so much for your consideration.

The Deoleo Team

Considering how rudely the Davis report and those of us who helped spread it treated her industry and the companies she represents, her calm, polite restraint impressed me. She included lovely graphic .PDFs that I converted into .JPGs so you could see them without clicking, but I also included the high-quality .PDFs at the bottom in case my pictures were not good enough to be read completely.
