best part of the Trump administration

The most exciting element is the open animosity between The Donald and Lamestream Media.

This country now has something it has not had in my lifetime: The Fourth Estate *.

“The Founders” thought they had set it up well with a Free Press. Either baked into the Constitution, or accidental doesn’t much matter, but having the same money men who bribe the politicians own the media has been awful for liberty. Now they are NOT working for the same godfather. Even though Trump grew up in their neighborhood and went to all the right parties, he seems to be a serious enemy of theirs.

The result is a press that won’t let him get away with anywhere close to as much as all prior administrations in the last 50 years.

Unfortunately, both sides are lying as rapidly as they can talk with enough truths scattered among fictions to keep everyone guessing.

As has been the norm forever, WE have to multiple-source all data and USE OUR HEADS to figure what is real. But having the administration and the press at odds inadvertently puts a lot more truth out than having them working in concert ever did, or could.

* The Fourth Estate
is the phrase used to define the separation of powers that is crucial to a distributed government in our Republic.

The executive, legislative and judicial branches are all SUPPOSED TO BE subordinate to The People – that’s us.

It works ONLY with an informed populace.

In my 20’s, I was puzzled when I witnessed our small town newspaper being sold to The New York Times. There was no significant money to be made there… directly.

Now I get it.

The movie “The Pentagon Papers” showed us how distributed media control destroys high-level schemes. Newspapers, radio stations, television stations, all working independently, striving for audience in order to attract advertising revenue are EAGER to publish the truth… especially if it is sensational.

Those who would rule the world had to kill the independent media. So they did.

Six guys on their team sell whatever needs to be sold.

Now we have an outlier in chief.

Not wonderful. But certainly an improvement.

By happy coincidence, Green Med Info just published a piece on the death throes of mainstream media that is relevant to mine. I quote a bit and link to their good stuff:

Watching Major Media Commit Suicide

“… Trump has blazed a trail of rejecting major media. As a result of his merciless attacks, press outlets are going mad pushing numerous outlandish fake stories. They’re ripe for further incursions on their territory.

In the past, this was the pattern: an outsider enters the scene and accuses the government of vast fraud; media operators assemble their usual cast of sordid characters, who dismiss the charges; everybody goes home and the story dies.

But that’s not working anymore. Media pomposity is exposed as fakery. Millions of people see through the ruse.

The media emperor is naked. He can prance around and around, but his fundamental nakedness keeps compounding the joke.

Truth be told, as their financial positions sink into dire red ink, press operations are trapped. Why?

Because they are partners with the high-level criminals whose activities are the very stories the public wants to know about… “
