I even got a note from a couple of trustworthy personal friends who are over there right now, confidently identifying the right and wrong side of the conflict. War is ugly. Tonight I passed two cars in a row with video panels anesthetizing the rear seat passengers. It set me thinking about my own travels around town, through the countryside or on trips as a child, then as a parent. This new way is horrid. Gone is learning about the world around us via direct observation. In its place is a video production of an artificial world that resembles reality enough to replace it. Having thoughts in your head is not necessarily thinking. Sharing space with your children while watching television is not parenting. Who helps us maintain and restore our health is very central to this. I do like using the word “free” in its predominate dictionary definition, as in unfettered. I definitely refer to the opposite of the mainstream medical model. The American Medical Association (AMA) was founded in 1847 and incorporated in 1897 to improve the lives of the people who founded it. I just opened the windows to let the evening cool take the temperature down in the house. Mid-morning tomorrow it will be rising to 70 degrees outside while indoors has cooled to that temperature. That’s when we close the windows. At this moment we are just under 80 inside and 68 outside. That is Bitterroot Montana air conditioning. Off grid. No electricity needed.
