By compatriot, on May 31st, 2014 John R. Graham Four years after its passage, Obamacare has now been largely implemented, and millions have had their coverage disrupted. For years, the administration has propagated a number of myths about Obamacare. Some have already crumbled, and others will fall as Obamacare continues to change the American health system. Myth No. 1: If you like your health plan, you can keep it. Despite President Obama’s promise that “If you like your plan, you can keep it,” about 6 million people have already been notified by insurance companies that their policies are being canceled. That number will grow. Currently, about 19 million people have health coverage that they purchased in the individual market. Most of those plans do not […]
By compatriot, on May 31st, 2014 There are some foods that absolutely need refrigeration, and some that are better off stored outside of your fridge. Do not refrigerate (unless cut): Potatoes: Refrigeration makes the starches in potatoes turn to sugar – which is not a good thing, as it changes the flavor and makes the skin darken. Onions: Separate them from the potatoes (they don’t play well together – potatoes can make onions rot) and store them where there is plenty of air circulation (no sealed bags or containers) Garlic: Like onions, they prefer air circulation. Tomatoes: Store them on the counter – they will turn mealy and dull in the refrigerator. Avocado: Store on the counter until they are ripe. Melon: Leave them on your […]
By Ted Dunlap, on May 29th, 2014 As you know, I’ve been paying attention the the river outside my front window. This morning a log caught on the bridge support downstream. Knowing this could rather rapidly escalate into a major dam, backup and flood for us lowlanders, I called the highway department. They were out within hours. I expected response, but was quite pleasantly surprised by its rapidity. Chatting with the crew chief, we discover the essence to them: A dam on the support exerts tremendous pressure and could take the bridge down. Replacement cost could be $1.500,000… a bit of a budget breaker for the county. Improving their motivation, a half-mile west was a similar problem on the bridge over the West Fork. One tractor trip […]

By Ted Dunlap, on May 24th, 2014 I tripped over a good bully story. It is much better to hear Ronda tell it. She is a good story teller and this is a great story. I strongly recommend this IJR flash video clip over the abbreviated text of the story at the bottom of the page. Keep in mind, that she competes, fights in the womens bantamweight class. That is to say, she is small, particularly when compared to the big thugs who decided to exhibit their manliness by pushing her around. click HERE to see the interview Now with the bullying event as she told it in your head, watch her in the ring and imagine how quick the world turned upside down for the thugs […]
By compatriot, on May 22nd, 2014 Why NOT Believing In Conspiracies Is A Sure Sign Of Mental Retardation Monday, 19 May 2014 06:37 Mike Adams This article was written by Mike Adams and originally published at Natural News The phrase “conspiracy theorist” is a derogatory smear phrase thrown at someone in an attempt to paint them as a lunatic. It’s a tactic frequently used by modern-day thought police in a desperate attempt to demand “Don’t go there!” But let’s step back for a rational moment and ask the commonsense question: Are there really NO conspiracies in our world? The Attorney General of South Carolina would surely disagree with such a blanket statement. After all, he sued five pharmaceutical companies for conducting a price-fixing conspiracy to defraud […]
By compatriot, on May 22nd, 2014 Who Is The New Secret Buyer Of U.S. Debt? Wednesday, 21 May 2014 02:41 Brandon Smith On the surface, the economic atmosphere of the U.S. has appeared rather calm and uneventful. Stocks are up, employment isn’t great but jobs aren’t collapsing into the void (at least not openly), and the U.S. dollar seems to be going strong. Peel away the thin veneer, however, and a different financial horror show is revealed. U.S. stocks have enjoyed unprecedented crash protection due to a steady infusion of fiat money from the Federal Reserve known as quantitative easing. With the advent of the “taper”, QE is now swiftly coming to a close (as is evident in the overall reduction in treasury market purchases), and […]
By Ted Dunlap, on May 22nd, 2014 I have never lived within reach of a river before now. It is great. But prudence dictates I pay attention to it. I didn’t move here unaware of the potential, but noticing our home is about two feet higher than the neighbors homes was reassuring. Their description of floods, or the closest thing they have seen to one helps as well. With Bitterroot snowpack at 180% – 300% of normal, this is definitely a year for close watching of the river. However, it seems to be working out okay – particularly for those of us upstream from Darby. The top picture, taken this morning, is of the Conner Cuttoff Road bridge crossing the Bitterroot East Fork… and the first iteration […]
By compatriot, on May 21st, 2014 QUOTE OF THE CENTURY, MAYBE EVEN THE MILLENNIUM Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic . Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do. “The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is […]
By Ted Dunlap, on May 20th, 2014 The article below recently appeared in the Ravalli Republic. While that newspaper slanted the piece towards a view supporting the Sheriff’s quest for more taxes on the people of Ravalli County, or cuts in other services, my take is different. First I give you theirs. Ravalli County sheriff frustrated by commissioners, lack of budget support May 18, 2014 11:00 am • By Perry Backus Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman made his annual plea for help to the county commissioners Thursday. For years now, Hoffman has asked the commission for additional manpower in the form of new deputy sheriff positions to patrol the county. In the last decade, they have given him one. On Thursday morning, Hoffman told commissioners that his […]
By Ted Dunlap, on May 20th, 2014 This is an e-mail I received, followed by my reply to him. It seemed worth sharing with you all. Hi Ted, At Starr’s meeting we jumped in to help get you on the ballot, but I am sorry to have to tell you that I am going to bow out. I have been campaigning at all of the local Repub meetings and events and on the street, and have received many reluctant responses. I found it amazing that many people know of you. I didn’t get any negative responses about you, just opinionated. Here’s what I have found: Several prospective singers mentioned they thought you had written some op-eds that were anti republican. The “aware” ones don’t want to have […]
By compatriot, on May 15th, 2014 Fed Laundering Treasury Purchases to Disguise What’s Happening -Paul Craig Roberts By Greg Hunter On May 14, 2014 In Media 35 Comments By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com In his latest article, former Assistant Treasury Secretary Dr. Paul Craig Roberts says, “The Fed is the great deceiver.” Why is he making this shocking accusation? The reason is tiny Belgium’s whopping purchase of $141 billion in Treasury bonds earlier this year. Dr. Roberts explains, “We know that Belgium didn’t have any money to buy $141 billion worth of bonds over a three month period. That sum comes to 29% of the Belgium GDP. So, they don’t have a surplus in their budget that is 29% of their GDP, and they don’t have […]
By Ted Dunlap, on May 14th, 2014 Here is the text of this afternoon’s warning bulletin. I separated it into paragraphs to facilitate reading, but didn’t bother translating the all caps “shouting”. Event: Hydrologic Outlook Alert: …RIVERS AND STREAMS ON THE RISE LATER THIS WEEK AND WEEKEND… TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARM THE REST OF THE WEEK WITH READINGS ON THURSDAY IN THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S. THESE WARM TEMPERATURES WILL START TO ACCELERATE SNOWMELT FROM THE MUCH ABOVE NORMAL SNOWPACK IN THE MOUNTAINS. THIS SNOW MELT WILL CAUSE SMALL STREAM LEVELS TO INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY. THE INCREASED FLOW IN THE SMALL STREAMS WILL CAUSE MAIN STEM RIVERS TO EXPERIENCE STEADY RISES LATER THIS WEEK AND THROUGH THE WEEKEND. A COLD SYSTEM IS ANTICIPATED TO SWING THROUGH THE […]
