Suspending the Constitution:

In America Today, the Government Does Whatever It Wants By John W. Whitehead September 17, 2018 “That was when they suspended the Constitution. They said it would be temporary. There wasn’t even any rioting in the streets. People stayed home at night, watching television, looking for some direction. There wasn’t even an enemy you could put your finger on.”—Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale We can pretend that the Constitution, which was written to hold the government accountable, is still our governing document.   The reality we must come to terms with, however, is that in the America we live in today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.   “We the people” have been terrorized, traumatized, and tricked into […]

Happy Anniversary

In 2013 I honored September 11th with a link-filled post … see my permanent page: 9 – 11 – 2001. I just reviewed that post, finding three of the links no longer function, but the rest are as good as they ever were. I am presenting some of the best videos on that fateful day, forensics and intricacies about it here. The five-minute clip to the right is a good starting point. Various people suggest “we will never forget” in several forms, but most of them swallowed the official cover story and missed The Big Event. We should not forget. The culprits are still at large. Not only did the bombs and wars started with “9/11” as their excuses miss […]

ode to Valentine One

I road raced toy cars as a rug rat. I pushed brake-less wooden coasters to hilltops and drove them hard through corners on the way down. I was the same with my bicycles. Throughout my motorized years, superior cars or bikes disappear from from my mirrors every time curves are involved. I LOVE the art, science and skillset of driving. From two wheels to eighteen, I have always paid attention to driving machines and environment like nobody else I know. I observe my ten-and-two hold on the steering wheel in maybe one out of a hundred drivers. I see lounge-chair seating positions, one-hand at the bottom of the wheel, double-arm hug, fast food in one hand, driver focused on back […]

Ron Paul report on The Creeping Police State

Always good, this Liberty Report is definitely worth sharing. RonPaulLibertyReport NSA spying, TSA groping, police shooting first and asking questions later. As the grip of the police state gets ever tighter, how can we resist? Is there any hope of rolling it back? Rutherford Institute founder John Whitehead joins today’s Liberty Report.     The Rutherford Institute is one of the websites I check frequently. The Rutherford Institute has emerged as one of the nation’s leading advocates of civil liberties and human rights, litigating in the courts and education the public on a wide spectrum of issues affecting individual freedom in the United States and around the world. On the show they mention The Bill of Rights many times. Here […]

because they can

I never loved it, but it took TSA to permanently remove me from the list of potential airline customers. I will not ever place myself groveling at anyone’s feet, particularly those of my intellectual and moral inferiors. My dad and older brother raised me as an expert in bullies. I spent at least as much time in that classroom as in government schools. Important lessons include that bullies are weak, shallow and eager for any opportunity to wield artificial power over the vulnerable. As much as possible, I avoid making myself vulnerable. The Downsize DC TSA Campaign below is well worth supporting. – Ted Show Congress how much! Share this message from the Downsize DC blog Replace the TSA […]

USofA demands Russians release prisoners

Judging from the picture on the left, one might guess that the Scandinavian or European countries might be publicly critical about human rights abuses, incarceration rates, freedom and such. But the rulers of the world don’t see it that way. The diplomats posturing in the press: The US Department of State demanded that the Russian authorities immediately release all people who the international rights groups recognize as political prisoners or prisoners of conscience. The Russian response: “Russia has repeatedly and unambiguously replied to the propaganda stunts in which the western countries called upon the release of certain people suspected or convicted of various serious crimes under our laws,” reads the embassy’s statement posted on Facebook. The Russian diplomats added […]

the surveillance state

John Whitehead of The Rutherford Institute shared this look at the state of our surveillance state. It is not exactly as either George Orwell or Aldous Huxley expected, but an ugly combination of both. Go read it at the source – click the headline or trailer link to reach the full article. It has supporting links to put it all into perspective. – Ted ————————————————- Government Eyes Are Watching You: We Are All Prisoners of the Surveillance State By John W. Whitehead … It is a prison from which there will be no escape if the government gets it way. As Glenn Greenwald notes: “The way things are supposed to work is that we’re supposed to know virtually everything about […]

revenuers

rev•e•nu•er (ˈrɛv ənˌyu ər, -əˌnu-) n. an agent of the U.S. Treasury Department, esp. one responsible for enforcing laws against illegal distilling or bootlegging of alcohol. [1875–80, Amer.] In the dark ages, elites in the District of Criminals banned beverages with any alcoholic content, that is fermented beverages that had been utilized by humans for centuries. This, mysteriously, made the world a better place… better for organized crime, anyway… both private and public sector. People in The Roaring 20s were not stupid enough to think this was about public safety. They called the agents harassing home brewers “revenuers”. Their profession was forcibly extracting revenue from people who had been minding their own business, doing what came naturally. I have […]

The Age of Petty Tyrannies

I really liked the commentary below. The Rutherford Institute granted me permission to publish the entirety here. I was impressed enough with his perspective and writing to buy his book Battlefield America: The War on the American People The cultural destruction is all part and parcel with the destruction of life, liberty, property brought to a populace too lazy to fight for their freedom. I keep hoping enough of us keep the knowledge alive in case we get another shot at forming a community of mutual respect and honor. The Age of Petty Tyrannies   By John W. Whitehead “Whether the mask is labeled fascism, democracy, or dictatorship of the proletariat, our great adversary remains the apparatus—the bureaucracy, the […]

gun ban cancer

They need a disarmed populace in order to have complete control. We need effective self-defense to prevent that. The lines are clear. They will keep crossing that line until they either win or lose decisevly. Bump Stock Ban Written So Poorly it Endangers Your AR-15s   Click on the Take Action button to contact the ATF.  Tell them their proposed rule is fatally flawed, and will lead to a ban on semi-automatics, in addition to the existing ban on bump stocks.      Not a GOA member yet? We need you more than ever right now.   One Slippery Slope Replaced by Another Dear TED, The ATF recently unveiled proposed regulations for a “bump stock ban.” And, sadly, all gun owners […]

Cause of death statistics – guns not in top 10

The statistics below and to the right are occasionally compiled. I carried one such list on a card in my wallet for a decade. The numbers ebb and flow year-to-year, but their position on the causes of death list rarely move much. There are 32,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms. The U.S. population is 324,000,000. Thus: 0.00987% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. -80% are through criminal activity, gang and drug-trade related This is one cost of “our” war on non-prescription drugs. -60% of those deaths are by suicide A similar per-capita rate to non-gun-owning countries. -8% are by police. -3% are accidental discharge deaths. Look at how those deaths distribute across the nation: […]

push to stop staged shootings will start the real shooting

There is a big push going on to disarm the peasants. Staged false flags, hoaxes, highly-organized children marches, media and political figures have masses eager to give up on self defense are becoming a regular part of the media landscape. Many worry that “They are going to take our guns”. That is not what will happen. They are hastening us into an internal war, also-known-as “civil war” between the armed and the unarmed with the politicians and many of their palace guard on the wrong side. Other than the thoughtless sheep, players on both sides know that removing millions of privately owned firearms is not going to happen through protests and legislation. Violent force is the only way. Those […]

the pedophiles ban online meet-ups

Once again the collection of megalomaniacs, sociopaths, psychopaths and sexual deviants that prowl the halls of congress have sent a resounding “Okay for us, but not for the peasants”. My wife of 16 years and I are among millions of happy couples who met on the Internet. Ah, but congress can’t take the chance that someone might have fun without permission. Here is the message that greets anyone looking for personal ads at probably the most popular online meeting place today: https://www.craigslist.org/about/FOSTA US Congress just passed HR 1865, “FOSTA”, seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully. Any tool or service can be misused. We can’t take such risk without jeopardizing all our other […]
